                                            Hunger Action Month

Each September, the Feeding America network joins together for Hunger Action Month® — a national campaign designed to inspire people to take action and raise awareness of hunger in the United States.

Food shouldn’t be an impossible choice. Yet, for millions of people in America, a daily meal isn’t a choice between different dishes.

It's a choice between food and other crucial needs—like medicine, electricity, or childcare.

                                      Events Hosted by MCHPP Include:

  • Advocate for policy change by writing to your elected officials at an MCHPP Postcard Party. Dates coming soon!
  • Join Now You're Cooking and Chef Ali Waks Adams for a cooking class to benefit Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program on Wednesday,  September 25th from 5-7pm.

Upham Design will donate 100% of all September sales

of the print “Trio” to the MCHPP.

                                                   Help make change.

Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers MaineIn Spring of 2022, Val Upham kicked off the first "Love to Build" by donating 20 original paintings to Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers Maine as part of a Love to Build fundraising campaign. In 2023, nearly $12,000 was raised.

"Caring for the well-being of others is the best tool in our toolbox. The “Love to Build Art Auction” is where creative talent comes together and raises money to bring comfort to struggling members of our community.” - Valerie Upham

The paintings were auctioned off to raise donations for Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers Maine. Click here to watch a video about the project!
